Matt Geiger

Matthew is a financial professional with over 12 years of investment experience across a broad range of investment classes. In mid-2011, Matt joined Lakeland Ventures, a venture investment and business development firm committed to providing both capital and development resources to entrepreneurs who seek to help people live safer, healthier, and more productive lives. In his role as Partner, he looks to invest in seed and early stage ventures focused in the following areas: clean water technology, non-invasive medical devices, digital health diagnostics, multimodal transportation, and accident mitigation technologies.

Additionally, Matt is currently a Co-Founder of Morelight Technologies, an early-stage medical device company focused on hydration monitoring. Morelight is developing the first noninvasive method to provide accurate and quantitative measures of hydration status and fluid movement in real-time.

Prior, as Portfolio Analyst for the market-neutral equity hedge fund Sangamon Trading, Matt was responsible for the strategic identification, valuation, and monitoring of the fund’s investments across several market segments, including a variety of private placement transactions. Primary areas of focus included consumer retail, restaurants, lodging and hospitality, REITs, and health care service providers.

Matt began his career with the CBRE Group, Inc., a leading global commercial real estate firm, where he attained the position of Associate Director – Financial Consulting Group. While at CBRE, Matt led strategic financial consulting engagements with corporations and financial institutions including Ford, Northrop Grumman, Allstate, RREEF, Lennar, Equity Office, and TIAA-CREF.

Matt is a proud and passionate graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied both Microbiology and Business. He is a CFA Charterholder and member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
